light laptop or netbook????

Hi

I'm looking to get my wife a new computer for work. She is looking for something light weight, but can pick up emails , do word docs etc. Also it needs to be able to connect to a projector and play powerpoint/ video clips smoothly.

Any ideas ,budget is between £300 and £800.

Many netbooks would do all that, but the main issue I have with them is their keyboards are a little small for fast comfortable typing.

The big question is how portable you want the system to be. Even the lightweight normal laptops (Lenovo X series for example) are heavy and bulky compared to a netbook. If you also factor in that netbook bags are much smaller and lighter and some netbook varients offering 8 hours+ battery life (so no power brick needed during the day) - the weight difference is significant.

Saying all that - the keyboards are smaller than standard (but so are some lightweights) so pop into the purple shirt place and have a play with a lightweight and a netbook.
