Wow, did not see this coming, talk about a bolt from the blue, I'm surprised this morning no mention of it on here, so thought I'd start off a thread for everyone.

Funny thing is, I'd ever even heard of Light No Fire until last night. How on earth were they able to develop and keep this quiet for so many years while at the same time fixing and impoving NMS with so much free content. And I gotta say, man it looks good. After what could be classed as the biggest turn around in gaming history, that being No Mans Sky, I actually think they'll absolutely nail this release. Certainly from what we've have seen from HG over the last 3 or 4 years regarding the constant incredible turn around of NMS, I think HG can be very much trusted to deliver on this one. History wont repeat itself again surely.

Check it out. What do you think? An Open World Survival MMO set on 1 planet, definitely has me interested. To quote Sean, "First REAL open world game" This comment alone is definitely a big FU to Bethesda and Todd Howard lol

My work colleague showed me this, this morning. Looks good. We were talking about the same thing, wondering if it would release in a good state or not. We came to same conclusion as you, hoping it would release well. Hope we're all right :)

He's made sure not to promise to much in this one. It's taken them 5 years to even talk about it. That interview on stage was so funny, he's so uncomfortable and you can just sense the nervousness in the audience when he says they've been working on something more complex than NMS, it was brilliant.

HG games should be the standard when it comes to developers, they've been incredible since the launch of NMS. How many free DLC packs did they launch, like 15 or something. And let's not forget they we're rushed by Sony to launch NMS, and had to deal with losing the majority of their work because of the flooding to their studio.

There's no way this will launch in the same state of NMS. They've gained so much trust back, pretty much adored by the community and shown a lot of other developers up with their 100% devotion to making NMS a real love affair.

As someone who stayed away from NMS on it's release and didn't play it until 7 years later, I think it's a great game and have loaded it on to my lads computer to play some co-op.

Light No Fire looks remarkably like No Man's Sky so probably the same or improved engine. I think Hello Games have redeemed themselves and as long as the publishing house doesn't rush them then it's release will be successful. Looking forward to playing it.

Definitelt interested. It's a much more meaningful scale than NMS, actually having a planet sized world to explore and share with the rest of the community is a pretty cool idea, with crafting and building by the looks. Be interesting to see if/how settlements grow organically, or you can slope off into the wilderness and make yourself a hermitage :D

I'm interested but skeptical. Something about developers from guildford that low to over promise on their games.

everyone is right that nms has now become a great game, though this is not without issues as like I played the game with a friend about 4 years ago and enjoyed what content it currently had. Now it'll have loads more, but I wouldn't know what I'm doing if i continue my save, so would prefer to start again, but I don't want to replay loads of content just to find out the new stuff so I'll never get to experience it.

Its the same issue Minecraft has. Loads of new stuff (on top of being too old for it now) I can't be bothered to replay 90 old content to discover the 10 percent new.

Sean Murray posted this on his twitter. :p
