The beauty of these things is that it doesnt really matter what lighting you use as long as you are happy with the results. Essentially the most important part of a studio lighting system is the temperature of the light achieved. A mate of mine a few weeks ago bought irrc some 100W pure white bulbs (~5400 in temperature or there abouts?) and placed them in £5 desk lamps. whole setup cost around £40 inc del under the virtul hammer.
If you have deeper pockets however, you could look into getting some proper studio lights. Where from, im not sure, but ym advice would be to look in the back adverts of some photo magazines and do some research from there.
