Lighter Fluid on a plane...

Im going skiing tomorrow and have bought a new zippo for smoking on the mountains. Question is - can I take my lighter fluid to fill it up if I pack it on the plane? Or will I get attacked by men carrying MP5s?

Why not fill the lighter then buy more when you run out over there, im sure they will have heard of lighter fluid.

Isn't lighter fluid pressurised? If so then I would say no.

Flammable liquids (petrol, lighter fluid, alcohol, ethanol) are not allowed on aircraft.

My friend accidentally left her lighter in her handbag when we went to Rome, on the way back it got through security scan.

I wouldn't advice trying it though lol!

You are allowed to take 1 normal lighter with you with no problems.

Yes, Zippo's are allowed.

No it's not, it's just basically petrol in a can with a flip out lid... lighter gas is pressurised, but zippo fuel isn't

In a sealed metal can though at that altitude the pressure build up inside the can might cause it to explode and take the plane out with it (or maybe not...

)
