Hi all,

I'm thinking about adding some uv lighting and uv cabling/wrapping to my Silverstone FT02, but I need some advice as far as colours.

I have an Abit IP35-e which is has a lot of blue on it, blue leds in the case, and a Razer Lachesis and Lycosa which all have blue leds as well. However, my PSU has a red sticker on it (Corsair HX620) and my Asus 5870 V2 is red.

Most of the other cabling/hardware is black, bar the CPU heatsink which is silver.

Would you look at trying to go with both blue and red, or concentrate mainly on the blue?

I'm looking at getting something like this and this.

I want to add some lighting to it without going too far and it looking very cheesy.

The other alternative would be just some white cold cathodes just to light it up, but I'm not sure if that would do enough to satisfy me lol.

I'll try and take some internal pictures tonight to help as well.

Blue and red looks good but real hard to find true red ccfl as they all tend to look pink. A good mod is to use a white ccfl and some red film that you can get from craft shops. failing that blue and orange work well.

I appreciate the cheesy sentiment, keep it to a two colour theme max (excluding black)

Yeah, I'm now thinking I may look at some coloured led's rather than the UV, as I understand UV lighting will show up dust and the like really easily and will be a lot harder to keep it all looking good.

LED's all the way, if you can and have the know how i would custom make them aswel. If you make them up at home or in a workshop you can position your LED's where you want and minimise wiring saving you on cable management. For power connectors i just use the 2 pin to 4 pin molex fan connectors and solder the 2 pin ends to the wiring and resistor then justs plug the 4 pin end to your psu and it works like a dream :'). Just make sure your tape up and tidy up any exposed metal i.e. the LED ends and resistor ends.

you can get red LEDs and yes the CCF in red are more like pink...... unless you get street glow onces...but they are for cars...unless you know how to convert over to a PSU molex
