Morning guys

As usual i have one of them crazy ideas. I recently bought CM 690II advanced black/white case. It has been kitted out to the max, almost.. still 3 140mm vipers to come and couple fan guards. As with storm enforcer, i ripped out hdd cage for better airflow, all my stuff is in drive bays. Also planning to add 140mm to the bottom. Nevertheless, if you are familiar with the case, there is a button that turn on and off lights on the front fan. I will remove the fan as i don't like it. What i want to do with the button is keep it, and use it to turn lights on and off. Only problem i am facing is finding lights which i could connect that button to, its 2 pin. few years back i had 2M of NZXT lights, but cant remember if they take 2pin, i mean if i connect case 2 pin instead of the thing that comes with it

any ideas? maybe someone already done simmilar thing? please help :p TA

It all rather depends on the switch.

If its a latching switch then you can easily wire up any load to it by simply having a power line run to the switch and then another from switch to load. The ground wire needs not to be switched.

Simple enough for stuff like led strips.

Basically its a push in push out button, i think there is a ground wire. What if i try to re-work something like NZXT 200cm loop? it comes with an additional switch, and a molex to power it up. Basically if i power the lights, and wire actual thing to that switch. Not much of an electrician but i think that wont make a nuclear bomb :D

Like TealC said, just cut the power wire and attach each end to the tabs on the switch so there is still power going through the circuit but it will only be complete when the switch is "switched" Very simple circuit.

Hope that helps,
Cam.
