Lightning to 30pin adapter

I don't think these support digital audio output, so if for instance you want to use it as an adapter for your speaker dock it won't work. For all other purposes though I think these are okay, including analogue audio output.

Sorry, forgot to mention, it's for an in car adapter, currently has a 30pin cable in there.
Don't think charging is required, I'll check if the current one does that. Not a requirement really though, just audio.

My daughter has the official £25 Apple one for her dock at home and it works perfectly. I loaned it to a guy at work to try in his Audi and everything worked, audio, charging and the remote control stick.

It's only the official units that will stream audio. There is a work around using an adapter with 3.5mm jack in but I'll need to know what you want to use it for in order to recommend something.

Edit- I've read all the posts now. If you want the controls to work you'll need to go official.

The official apple adapter has a processor inside it the handle data etc whereas the cheap ones only handle charging

Yup, most people don't realise it has a DAC in it which explains why it is expensive. Not worth £25 but if you buy Apple products be prepared to pay the premium for stuff like this!
