lightroom 3 - moving library question

hey guys,

My laptop died so i had to fork out for a new one

My LR library was setup on my old laptop with ALL my images on the C: drive under 'My Pictures'

I managed to retrieve all my data from the old laptops hdd and copied it all onto my home server.

I'm now trying to put the catalogue and library back together on the new laptop but I'm having issues.

I have decided that I want to keep windows and my pictures on different partitions, so I created a new partition (D to keep my images on.

I copied all the images on to the D drive, copied the LR catalogue files over and in LR did file, 'open catalogue' and selected the old catalogue from the old laptop.

Sadly, this hasn't worked correctly as now I have NO images to show!!

The old catalogue is expecting the images to be in the MY pictures folder, which they aren't.

Is there a way to change the default location of these files, without moving them?

I haven't got enough space on my C drive to out them all back on there, then move them in LR to the new location.

My main concern, is that I've now lost all the edits I done to over 11000 files!

so the collections are there but they are greyed out right?

just right click and locate the new folder location.
