lightroom crash after trying to turn of gpu

I stupidly turned on use graphics processor to try and help speed up lightroom but its made it worse, each time i try to untick the box lightroom crashes, and ive also tried adobes suggestion but what they asked to change isnt there in the first place.

Manually disable the graphics processor

If you can't launch Lightroom or Lightroom crashes before you can uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" you can manually disable this preference using the following steps:

Navigate to %appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs
Open the file Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs in TextEdit
Change the following line: useAutoBahn = true to the following useAutoBahn = false
Save and close the file Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs
Launch Lightroom CC/6 again


anyone know a fix for this? its driving me crazy being worse than useless slow

if the appdata route isn't working for you then the only thing you can do is delete it, delete everything in appdata for it and then reinstall.

I've had it work once with editing the file, and the other time I had to reinstall.

quick update, deleted and reinstalled, gpu tickbox was still ticked but was able to untick with it crashing, lightroom running as usual again. thanks
