Got a few questions..

Firstly, i wondered if people tend to Synchronise their photography folder or use the import function? Since i started using it last year I used synchroniszation but it's getting into a mess.

I've also somehow clicked or pressed something that's brought in all the exported jpegs so I have both RAW and jpg duplicates. Does anyone know of a setting that omits the jpgs from library so i only see the RAW?

Secondly, I'm about to build a new PC and current have my photos in their own partition (F drive) but on the new PC this will be the E drive.. What do i need to do to ensure I retain my work once light room is reinstalled.

Thanks

My experience:
I only use the import function, and then I export to a different location and new file names.
No idea how sort out the duplicate function, sorry.

When you move the library to a new drive / partition, open up LR and it will have a "?" next to the folder(s) I have all of mine as sub folders of a main folder unsurprisingly called "Photos" so when I have moved it before, I just right right click the parent folder, and select find, then in finder / explorer, point it at the right place and it will see your photos correctly again.

To omit the jpgs (or select the RAWs), in library mode, select the grid view, at the top select "metadata"; in one of the filter boxes, change the type to "file type". You should be able to select jpgs or RAW photos and move / delete them from the selection as needed.
