I rarely print anything these days but I have quite a bit I want to now. My monitor is regularly calibrated and I have been trying to get my head around colour profiles and printing. I want to check I have this correct:

1. All my editing is done.
2. Select my colour/paper profile. In this case DSCL in lightroom.
3. Select soft proofing, make any adjustments and make a copy with this colour profile imbeded? The original LR file remains untouched?
4. Export this proof to a file for sending but export using srgb.

^ From that video above at 32m 50ish he says when you export you export using srgb from lightroom and not using the paper profile again. Have I got this right? I'm just trying to get as accurate a print as possible from dscl :)

It's been so long since I printed anything, pre LR4 and softproofing built in.

Have you watched the video Genoma? I watched the LR section and then skipped past how he does it in PS. Pretty good video, I just need to clear up the above :)

There's also one on use a colour checker which I will watch later. The LR killertips one's recently on getting the brightness right for print is great but I want to get the colours down as best I can now along with the brightness :)
