I’ve been using my license successfully for years. But the final straw came today when I reinstalled the software on to a new laptop. It now refuses to open, even with all the credentials. I know that adobe have been trying to stop people using this version for years, but the simple fact is I don’t believe in the subscription model. I also cannot afford it. It feels like my time with it has finally come to an end.

I get to the license page, I accept it and it closes. No error message or anything. I’m stumped!

Maybe it's just time to move on from Lightroom ... which I know is hard.

Do you use it advanced features in it, or just as something to zip through rating of RAW files, simple edits and exporting ?

I'm more of the latter type of user, and I really liked Lightroom for easily being able to do gradient edits etc etc ... but the subscription model really annoyed me. Despite trying all sorts of alternatives, The lack of an alternative has actually made me use my camera less.

More recently though, I'm finding RapidRAW really fits the bill of my simple needs and editing ... which is also free. I even submitted a feature query / suggestion on GitHub and the chap replied in a day or to saying he'd incorporate a version of the idea in the next build.
