Greetings fellow overclockers, this is my favorite place for PC hardware and decided to finally join after a long time of lurking. I know a couple of people here from other forums too so thought might as well ;) :D

First of I want to share LightSpire with you all which I am involved with.

I'll post all the updates as some of them go back a bit, so I may have to make multiple posts to cover them all.

If it's agaisn't the rules I am sorry, I checked them out and couldn't see anything. ¬¬

November 30th Work In Progress

Welcome to the Official Holiday Update from the Lukewarm Media team regarding our upcoming fantasy RPG mod for Crysis, Lightspire: Fortune's Web! We have been busy putting together some new incredible looking material to show you, our fans, what we have been working on this past month. Today we've got an in depth look at one of our four playable heroes, a brief glimpse at an enemy you will encounter during your travels, work in progress music, and a small gift for you. Please be sure to keep an eye on our progress by watching our forum thread here on Crymod as well as our official website www.lightspiregame.com which will be up and fully functional for you very soon!

In-Engine Screenshots
Below we are showcasing a couple of new things. We have in order of apperance; A Cavern you will be able to explore, The Shape Shifter(a playable hero), and a few enemies you will encounter and have to defeat called a Rynox and a pack of Goblins. The Shape Shifter will have telekinetic powers, shape shifting abilties, and many more undisclosed advantages to choosing this character. Please be reminded that all the screenshots shown below are in-engine screenshots and the level of quality that is acheivable with CryENGINE 2.

Wallpapers
We have a selection of wallpapers below we are providing to you as our small christmas present for supporting our modification including two never before seen wallpapers exclusively provided for our fans. Included in the wallpapers are our four playable heroes including the Lancer, Caster, Shape Shifter, and Shield Warrior

Introduction
Today we have two brand new model renders to show you. The following images are renders of two of our characters the Shapeshifter and the Rynox. These models have been improved since they were shown ingame in our last update.

Character Render

Rynox - 3d Render
The Rynox is a lethal killer, its favored tactic being an all out charge. Preferring body slams to swordplay the Rynox will throw itself at your defenses with no pity or remorse. You must have your wits about you to avoid being impaled on its huge 20 inch head-mounted horn. Though barbaric and relentless in close quarters battle the Rynox is also a competent tactician and capable of organizing less intelligent beings. Depending on which character you play, you will need to adjust your tactics to fight this killer.

Shapeshifter - 3D Render
At the moment little is known of the ShapeShifter. A mysterious being with the power to transmogrify himself and cast powerful ancient spells. Through his power and wisdom he also carries with him a terrifying curse.

That's all for this update! Keep an eye on our website over at LightspireGame.com, and be sure to leave any feedback you have on our forums, which will be up soon, or in our forum thread here on Crymod.

Looks damn sweet... what's the ETA for it? :)

Currently we're looking for publishers, we're getting help from a certain developer in that regard but I cannot say more without breaching NDA :p lol

Sucks I know, I want to share it all but I have to restrain my self.

So what's the plan for the combat/magic system... will it be a branching "tech tree" that you can progress or select paths as you level up? Is there also a general/class specific skill system?

The wallpaper of the 4 people are the classes you play.

Dragon Lancer, Caster, ShapeShifter, and Shield Warrior.

I cannot say anything about the mechanics of the player system just yet without breaking NDA, but I shall update this thread with information as soon as I am able too.

It's not going to be "simple" put it that way ;).

Forgot 2 music tracks to post, not sure if you can embed youtube in this forum but here they are.

Good luck with the project and plz dont be another age of conan. gameplay is more important then graphics ;)

I agree but publishers like flashy stuff.

:p

Looks good, but as with most things now, they look good but fail to deliver.

Good luck finding a publisher and i hope you finish the game.

You can, just wrap [youtub e] tags around the variable given after 'v='
So your first one would be:

[youtub e]uhovsoRRQIg (just remove the space before the first 'e')

:D

/lesson :p

The game is looking very nice, I'm intrigued by the renders, what poly-count are you pushing in them, and how many is that comparable to ingame ?

hmm i dont think the websites working right for me :\

what type of game is this? Single Player RPG(Kotor/oblivion)? MMO(wow/everquest)? Co-Op RPG (Diablo/baldurs gate)?

is it a mod or a game? will we be paying for it or released on the internet? i ask this because i noticed you updated via a mod forum and just asking.

Good luck with this and getting a publisher, talented work you've produced there :)

Ah, thanks wasn't sure what tags worked on the forum. :p

The renders are pretty much ingame characters, only the renders usually have more accurate lighting due to the fact framerate is pointless on a still frame.

However the ingame screenshots you see are pushing around the same polygons if not less than Crysis pushes.

I'm afraid for legal reasons I cannot state anything about it's current status. The game is no MMO, the only planned multiplayer is 2 player co-op.

That's all I can say without breaking NDA.

It looks great from the screenshots, my kind of game, I'm looking forward to more updates :)

(just please don't be a "console-nerfed" style game - nice and complex please ;))
