Lightwave Help needed

im learning to use lightwave 8, well being tought 7.5 by a video tutorial but am using 8 and im having some trouble with it

first is they told me whilst using modeler to select a polygon then press + to make it so i only see them polygons. then press k which kills them and then press backspace to bring back the other ones. toruble im having is im pressing backspace the other ones aren't coming back. Even when i press undo i still get nothing coming back. can anyone advise on what to do? is it different in version 8?

also another not problem but annoyance is that they have undo, copy cut and paste at the bottom of lightwave but i dont. anyone know how to get it there, aswell as the display tab at the top, i dont have that but would limke it there

i know the short cuts for them all but it would be nice ti use my mouse for it

I have lightwave but I dont have it installed at the moment and been months since I used it so cant remember the keyboard shortcuts, try going into the menu -- selection -- unhide all

Unhide might be backslash instead of backspace \
