I have just inherited a Bissell Lightweight vac - showed it to wife and she tried it and was smitten.
What should I be looking at if I wanted to buy the same sort of thing but battery powered and just put it back into the charging stand.
It needs to be lightweight so possibly do so much then put it on charge then carry on vaccuming -also quiet.
Wife is fed up of carting a normal vac around the house.

We bought a new vac just before the new regs came out -at the moment it's 2000w - We have just had a good talk on it and have decided we will put up £300 for the right one.
Going to sleep on it now and start looking in ernest tomorrow.

I have a new Karcher vac for the car and garage. It would also be good in the house -it's light -compact and cleans well -Find I use it a lot more in the garage where the old one was a faff to just get it out of it's hole.

I have just spent an hour reading "The best cordless vac in 2024" I am more confused than ever - Good one about the trigger.

We have come to the conclusion we need a light weight one with a switch and it has to be easy to turn round a corner - also bagless -2 batteries and good suction.
I think if push came to shove the wife would go for a battery version of the Bissel we have.
I also have two Makita hand held vac's (both over 25yrs old) -one on 9v and other on 7.2v and they really do suck up the bits unlike the lidl one which is gutless.
This is the trouble when you can access online to read reviews you get confussed.

We have to go to Much Wenlock next Thursday and there is a Curry's on the way so will call in on way back - They certainly have a long list of battery vac's.
Thanks for the info everyone.

Doing more research I notice some of them have mech on the base and just up the handle and others have it all on the top of handle - Does having it on the handle make it top heavy or does it feel balanced.
This little Bissel one we have is just like having a hand held with a long handle as everything is all on the base.
Checked container and filter today - There wasn't a lot of room left for more dust and fluff and it hasn't had a great deal of use.
You have to be careful - was looking at Bosch and noticed some were 21v -25v and another more than 25v.

What a anti climax -Got to Curry's and they only has 4 makes on display and even the lightest one was much heavier than we thought it would be. It was advertised at 2.2kg where online they say it's 4.5kg.
We didn't buy anything but the worst was to come.
We went to Meole Brace retail park in Shrewsbury. - Never again. We were queuing to get out - I have never been in a retail park as bad as that one.
Now we are trying to decide if it's worth buying one in the first place .
One major question -Are they loud like our hand held vac's they scream and sound awful.
I did see a silverline in Lidl last week for £69. Perhaps I should have snatched it up as it was only one on shelf.
Why isn't anything easy these day's - In the old days you always bought a Hoover as it was the only one on market.
I try my hardest to spend money but it never happens.
