Ligitech G502, use the DPI buttin as an aiming button

I followed some instruction on the internet so I can use the DPI SHIFT button as an aiming button but it does not work.

These were the instructions:
Hey, I own the G502 and just double checked the software. To remap the DPI shift buttons to any keystroke you like, click on the G502 in the gaming software, then click on the buttons on the picture of the mouse to enter keymap mode, then hover over the DPI shift button, and click the little blue down facing arrow that appears, then click "assign new command" from the little menu that pops up. Then on the left side of the new pop-up window, make sure you click the "keystroke" icon, then where it says "enter your keystroke including any modifiers" click in the text field and type the key you want to map. (for example, hit shift, or 2, or ctrl, or whatever) then, click the blue OK button at the bottom and it will save the mapping. This process works for any of the buttons on the mouse, even the right and left clicks and the Sniper button can be remapped to any key you want

However I cant get to work in COS Advanced Warfare. I set the air to I and mapped the button to I. If I use I on the keyboard I it aims but if a press the button nothing happens

What am I doing wrong?
