Likely that ISP is NAPTing my traffic?

I dunno if this even makes any sense but oh well:

I've been having endless problems with supcom multiplayer. as far as I can tell my modem\router and firewall software have all port forwarding\pinholes they need correctly set up. But I'm still frequently getting stuck on the "connecting to game" and "setting up automatch" screens in supcom. Testing with this little utility:

http://66.134.89.225/~sic/nettest.html

gives a "NAT detected" message and from what I've read this is quite likely to cause problems.

So is it likely that my ISP is doing something which could be causing problems (I've recently switched to a new ISP and the problems seem to have started since then.... supcom used to run beautifully :(... )

NAT is done on your router, its perfectly normal. It just means the ISP can give you a single IP address which can be used by all of your LAN PC's

Not too worried about NAT, it's more NAPT\PAT that I'm worried about in this instance...

Well, when I say NAT I of course mean PAT (single IP, differentiating connections by different port numbers)

Your ISP wont modify any source/destination port numbers or you wouldnt get any internet services to work at all (ISP decides to change that HTTP request destination to port 6500 from 80?)

You shouldnt need to port forward to the game servers as PAT will open the right ports for you when a connection is initiated. If its slow, id look to your response times to the game master server where it pulls the list of servers from. Also your ISP may de-prioritise non 'essential' traffic
