ok nearly there 1 more question i hope.i want to do a Full format b4 install so should i select 'install' xp or 'repair' from windows setup menu?-i selected install-next screen shows existing partition/free space and asks where to install-either delete existing or create new partition.so i selected delete.next screen says'your about to delete a partion with system settings,ect,you may not be able to start pc until new install is complete'.so do i select delete-will i have the option to do a FULL FORMAT? or should i use the repair option?

If you want to do a full format, you select install and delete the existing partition. This will wipe anything currently on the disc.
