wouldnt bother with a "guaranteed to run at.." chip, just get a normall q6600

thats the only dark-area at the moment ... a lot of discussions seem to say get the E8600 as oppose to the Q6600 ... I will be playing modern games, so might this be something worth doing?

Yea I would also say just get normal q6600, save you sum money

I'd go with the E8400 and overclock it, will be cheaper than the Q6600 and better for gaming. If you really want quad, then don't bother with the guaranteed one, save yourself some money and get the normal one.

Also I'd change the x-fi soundcard for the asus xonar dx, much better in my experience and more compatible with the likes of vista.

Personally i would say keep the quad, only more and more games are going to use 4 cores.

And yeah chnage soundcard to the Asus Xonar.
