Something a little different and figured this was the best spot for my post.

Aggressive skating was a major interest to me in my teens, skating almost every day for 6 years - I was decent enough at skating park but as life goes, work, relationships and other interests took priority.

Fast forward over a decade I am 31, I'm still young enough, healthy enough and stupid enough to think I can not only find my previous level but out do myself adding new tools to the tool box and refining my skills further!

I've outlined two hefty goals, I want to enter an open competition and secondly I want to film a section (skate edit) by the end of this year.

I plan to post a clip weekly of something new I've learnt and use this as a place to leave my thoughts, feelings and ideas with this journey.

Below is Brandon Bobadilla, this section appeared in my recommended out of the blue it's the catalyst for why I'm writing this post and its a beautiful example of what skating is to me.

Oooh, interesting!

I was once an inline skater, way back in the 90s, but am no way in good enough shape to take that kind of beating on a half pipe or rail.

Good luck and post videos!

I also bladed for 12 years (15/16 years if you count the off and on years after) but stopped in my early 20s.

I went out to the barrage in the Bay last year, and almost cooked it trying to do a backside stall on my second attempt! The ramp wasn't even that big, probably 5ft. I used to skate vert ramps and think very little about it. That seems a bit mind boggling now.

Really interested to hear more about your journey as I'm eager to get inspired/motivated back into this sport myself!

I too did a bit of inline skating in the 90s as a teen. Also ice skating, bmx and a bit of Snakeboard.
The Brandon Bobadilla video about was fantastic but some of those jumps scare me watching thinking of severe broken ankles!

I still remember the pumping motion on a Snakeboard and how good it felt to pick up speed from stationary and do basic turns so wanted to try something again, but without the board taking up space.

Anyway, fast forward 25-30 years and I bought some JMK Ride free skates yesterday. What could possibly go wrong?!
