Limited access to network - no Internet connectivity

Hi all,

I moved back to my family home yesterday and when I came to set up my pc I got my first problem. I use a d link adapter and it's a Virgin superhub. It looked like it was connecting fine but I got the little yellow exclamation mark with the error 'limited access'.

Troubleshoot found nothing. I checked other devices worked fine on network (phone/ipad/360) and they all had connectivity. This pc connected to this network fine before I moved out before so I don't believe there is a hardware compatibility issue.

At this point I'm a bit stumped. Only thing I could think of is that at my old place I signed up to unblock us in order to get US Netflix. So I went into wireless network settings and changedtcp/ip 4 and 6 to get dns and ip automatically. I then typed into cmd prompt ipconfig /dnsflush
Ipconfig /release
Ipconfig /renew

To see if that helped (read it on google). Restarted but still just the yellow exclamation :-(

I'm stuck now so any help would be appreciated.

Go to your TCP/IP settings and make sure you dont have a static ip set up from your previous network.

EDIT: Just re read your post... No idea :S

Hi, not sure if this sheds anymore light on the subject but hopefully it will mean something to a technical bod.

I tried connecting it by ethernet and remembered that my ethernet controller has always for some reason said it doesn't have a driver installed and couldn't find one on the system. Essentially a wired connection didn't work. I plugged the wireless back in but just as I was about to take the wired cable out I noticed my net was working. Take either the cable or the wireless adapter out and it stops but with the wireless in I can get the net. It's not long term solution certainly but hopefully it might help guide some technical advice.

What AV/Firewall are you using?

What OS?

Run a command prompt (elevate for Vista/7/8) and type "net winsock reset" without the quotes. Restart your system.
