'Limited' Edition Games

Like most I will buy the CE/LE if there is something extra I want and worthwhile.

Ones I have purchased and happy with are:

World of Warcraft CEs - All 3 (Yes I know its not console but they are really good CE's)
Bioshock - with uber cool big daddy
Fallout 3 - bobblehead is cool :) Lunch box was smaller than hoped but still cool :D
FF7: Crisis Core - Nice little package and not massively expensive (at the time)

Can't remember anymore off the top of my head.... that might be all I have bought.

Oh I bought the infamous SE - I wasnt too impressed with it tbh. But then again it didnt cost me much more than the normal so meh.

So far the only LE games i have bought are the Assassins Creed with the Altair figurine and the Halo one with the helmet...i was contemplating on buying the Batman LE one with the batarang but decided not to...the only future LE game i have on order is the Assassins Creed Black Edition...only because i can stick him next to my Altair figurine:p...i also got fallout a few months ago...didnt like the game at all but i only paid £20 for the game and the little metal figurine that came with the game.

I got the Fallout 3 Collector's Edition with the lunch box and bobblehead which is cool, so that was worth it in my opinion.

Other than that I can't really be bothered with Limited Edition's of video games.

DVD's is a completely different matter though, lol.

I got the age of mythology collectors edition on PC, it came with a book and a minotaur figure, was pretty good. That and UT3 which was the same price as the normal version. The only other one I bought was Fear 2, which came with Fear 1 that I hadn't got so it seemed worth it.

ive got all 3 guildwars CE boxes.

The first one i paid less than some shops were selling the normal game for so bargain :)
Also people cant buy it now (last time i went on showing off my ce aura people were moaning that the ce costs 200quid from people who are willing to sell it)

:D
I'll only buy ce's if the box is nice or you get decent stuff in. Like anno 1404, the box is an awesome little chest :D

wish i had a fallout 3 bobblehead though!

oo just noticed in in consoles! Personally I wouldnt buy a console CE (dont know why, pc seems to give more ingame customisationy stuff etc) and my ps3 boxes wouldnt line up :P

I like to buy editions which come with some sort of toy or something, like the NVGs, which are on order, or game versions which come with figurines, I like figurines lol!

edit - I HATE artbooks and paying more just because of a metal tin though! Couldn't care less for 'bonus' in game items either...but toys?! YAY! :D

I picked up the Assassins Creed special edition with the figure and Fallout with the bobblehead and lunchbox. Will also be getting either Assassins Creed 2 Black edition or white edition, not sure which one yet.

I usually only buy the collectors edition versions of games that I know I am going to be keeping. The only ones I've bought so far from this generation have been COD4 and Forza2 though.

I'll probably get the steel book version of MW2 but there's no way I'd pay the premium for a substandard set of Fisher Price NVG's with nasty Infinity Ward stickers all over it.

Ive bought:

All WoW CE's
All Guild Wars CE's
Aion CE
Warhammer Online CE
Halo 3 Legendary

And like Cheets I have Steel Battallion in my loft. Now that was a game well worth £200 :D

I bought

Both Gears CE's
Halo 2
Fallout

I can understand why people buy them but its all become a bit mainstream with every game bringing out a SE or CE to allmost every game. Cant blame them i suppose if people like to collect its a win for them ^^.

I will be getting the Forza 3 LE as it offers the most complete experience in game with all available cars, I wouldn't want to miss out on anything like that. CE's tha come with figures etc I don't bother with.

I gave up getting CE or LE stuff after collecting picture discs in my teen years. Yeah picture discs, vinyl, err records, them old things before CDs which are usually big black discs but sometimes were transparent with a picture stuck between the side A and side B layers. ;)

They looked nice but sounded crap most of the time. Things haven't really changed with LE / CE games except rather than sounding crap they just are.....

Two I would have liked though were the Fallout 3 bobblehead (big fan of the entire series) and the Bioshock knitted doll big daddy.

Does anyone use the stuff with ther limited editions?

i have the GTAIV special edition and it has only been opened then put back, not used the holdall or ther keyring or anything.

Do you guys do that?

Actually, the I found the bag to be the perfect size for lumping a few pads and cans in if I'm going over to a mates to play some games. :p

I buy quite a few special editions, but mainly because I enjoy looking at the art, listening to soundtracks or developer diary DVDs. If a series I particularly like is coming out with a LE with a figurine (Or giant helmet...) I'll usually nab it up, stick it in a display cabinet I've got for all my junk like that (LE comics, copies of old games, etc).

One thing I don't do is buy them thinking "ZOMG Limited Edition! It'll be worth $$$$$ in a few years!". I already know it wont, I just buy them for me. :)
