In general for cars, I've got no idea about specifically for the MX5. Different types can be less or more aggressive and intrusive in day to day driving. You can also get very different torque biasing characteristics among the same type of device depending on how they have been set up.
It's one to ask people experienced in the car what they would recommend, because LSD's are not one size fits all.
i have the torsen type 2 from a 1.8s in my 1990 mx5.
it is much better than an open diff!
corners a lot better, it doesnt spin a wheel coming off round abouts anymore.
