Hey,

Is it possible to set up an Windows account where all the user can do is use IE/Firefox, use MS Office and have a limited My Docs space (maybe 100MB)? No access to other hard drives folders, and all other progams/settings etc. How would I go about doing this?

Cheers,

Suman

Howzit,

Yes, that is possible. Well, some of it as far as I know. All you do is setup another user account. And set it to limited. If you wanted more restrictions, then you can use the Policy editor that is built in with Windows XP. I'm not too sure on the 100mb space resriction on the My Documents though.

Hopefully this is of some help.
I can help you a lot more if you email me as I can't get on these forums very often.

I will explain there how to use the policy editor. No time right now, sorry.

Rob.

group policy editor only comes with xp pro. oh and another thing, it affects all users. you cannot restrict settings on a per user basis. you can only do that on a windows 2000/2003 domain. :p

maybe take a look at this though
