My FAH GPU client isn't getting the CPU time it needs, becuase my two Linux VMs are using most of it. I have noticed I'm losing up to 800PPD on certain work units as a result. Is there any way of cutting the CPU usage to about 95% on each VM, leaving 10% for the GPU and the system to run other apps?

Changing the priority of the processes doesn't help this.

Cheers.

I use PriFinitty for exactly the situation you describe. It's pretty straight-forward to use and can correctly force the priorities as you want them.

Thanks for that, although when I open it up it doesn't list any 'System' process which are where the two 'vmware-vmx.exe' processes are that I want to control.

Could you explain how you set it up to work for you please :)

Add any Fahcore processes (these are the processes related to your GPU folding) to your 'favourites' and set them to high priority. This should achieve what you want because the VMs run at normal priority so the GPUs will get preference.

Out of interest which version of VMware are you using? I'm using VMware player and I can prioritise the process.

I'm using VMware server 2, I have fixed the problem by setting the GPU FAH client to use all fours cores and having it set to high.
