Lincolnshire police to wear G4S logo on uniform

G4S as well, they seem a rather dodgy company.

But then again it's security, an industry that appears to have a lot more bad eggs than others. :(

I don't see the problem, seeing as many of the non front line police staff are employed by G4S.

It's worth pointing out that it's not police officers, it's civilian staff, but this is, unfortunately the way in which the police force is going, with the likes of Winsor reports.

they're office staff :/

Are you going to complain that the cleaning staff wear the cleaning company logo?

G4S is a MASSIVE company with lots of subsidiaries everywhere. They have an armed core in Afghanistan and Iraq etc... They do security systems, guarding, justice, cash management and a myriad of other specialty businesses (NHS, facilities management etc....).

Don't go by one reputation. Can't say I'm overly keen on a privatised police force however. Though I don't know how it's going to be managed yet. I know a lot of different parts of the business that are run really well, like the coalition with locog for example

I have to deal with them every day on the Olympic Park and I can confirm that they're a shower of ****.....

Given that the staff will be the same ones that were employed before, by and large, is everyone saying the staff currently are rubbish?

Joke, they are in it to make money. Crime and making money does not compute, it is bad enough with the police raking in millions from speeding tickets.

This is just the start, NHS and Police are the biggest ones, Cameron is selling off more than Thatcher did.

Are you drunk?

I still fail to understand how hiring a private company to do the job can be cheaper than the government running the department themselves.

Builders vs DIY

PC World vs Build-Your-Own-Rig

Security giant G4S is the second-largest private employer on earth - Here

In 2008, G4S swallowed up Armorgroup, whose 9,000-strong army of guards has protected about one third of all non-military supply convoys in Iraq (it's also notorious for its wild parties and for having Afghan warlords on its payroll).
But the combined group has a security presence in more than 125 countries, including some of the most dangerous parts of Africa and Latin America, where it offers government agencies and private companies heavily-armed security forces, land-mine clearance, military intelligence and training.

Worked as security at Job Centre Plus Southampton, they kept trying to cut our staff despite us telling them we needed more. Couldn't even cover our lunch breaks.

I suppose it's no reason to dislike the company as a whole, it simply isn't a company that values it's employees that much.

The biggest problem here is not G4S per se but rather the fact than the civilian part of Linconshire Police has be farmed off to a private firm.

Forget Robocop, that is a Metal Gear Solid 4 style dystopia.

yet their profits are small fry for a large organisation....

they just have lots and lots and lots of van drivers +security guards delivering cash bumping u pthe numbers.
