I just ran a test via the BT ADSL checker, and it said this:

"Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 2Mbps.

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 5Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 4Mbps and 6Mbps."

At the moment, the broadband speed we receive is 1.2 Mbps.

1. Is there something wrong about me receiving 1.2Mbps?

2. What is ADSL Max?

3. How do I get onto this ADSL Max and receive the speeds it is capable of?

ADSL and ADSLMAX are just 2 versions of the service which gets Broadband to your home.

ADSL has a maximum speed of 2megabits per second (2mbps)
ADSLMAX has a maximum speed of 8mbps

To get ADSLMAX service just ask your current ISP if you can get the service at no extra cost, or if you are out of contract look at others that are at your exchange and go with them.

of?
Most likely that your internal wiring is reducing the speed at which you can sync at.

Do you have any internal extensions? Is the bell wire disconnected?
