We live in a house with a master socket and 4 extensions, all have brand new filters which have been tested elsewhere...

when we get a call, for some reason it drops the ADSL connection, i have done this by constantly pinging an address on the web, disconnected all the phones one by one and phoned the house number, with the only thing being connected to the bt line being the router, which had a brand new filter in, as soon as i phoned the number the line dropped.

as i said iv worked my way backwards and its none of the filters/phones...

any ideas?

Yes, all the bt sockets have filters on them, iv even unplugged the phone and left the filter plugged into the socket.

Have you tried disconnecting the 'bell' wire from terminal 3 at the rear of all faceplates?

This connection was only needed with older type phones to provide a ring return path and can act as an 'aerial' for picking up electrical interference when using ADSL.

This should result in wires on terminals 2 and 5 only at each faceplate ...
