Does anyone have any idea on why an internet connection working perfectly for months would just start dying? The snr has dropped to zero or sometimes is 2147483646 and the speed is crippled though I am still syching at 3.8Mbps. I'm with bt by the way. Plus now we get a different ip address everytime we reconnect.

unplug everything except your modem/router, plug it into the test master socket and try different filters. If it's no better report the fault to your ISP

once you've ruled out your end it could be anything along the line to your exchange. For example a BT engineer breaking something, high winds causing lines to degrade etc

Have you tried the test port under the master socket?

sounds like a broken filter / something knackard plugged into your end somewhere.

unplug everything - and put modem into master socket. - with no filter.

if it still does it - you could try and update the firmware on the router.

sounds like its a netgear? - the large number for SNR.... - could be a bug that happens when low SNR values are in use.

otherwise it is to be reported to BT (via ure ISP).
