I was sent a email few weeks ago from an old fellow who thought he was sending me some dual screen wallpapers, after opening this email on my desk top, i found the file to contain 4 .exes therefore i did not click on them and tried to delete, 3 went no problem but one of them will not delete its called LINE.EXE and this is msg i get when i try to remove it.

cannot delete LINE: it is being used by another person or program.

close any programs that might be using the file and try again.

I cant find any program using it, looked at task manager and hi jack this, it not showing in both.

Winxp pro sp2.

At the start/run command type..... CMD

Then browse via DOS to the folder the file in is (desktop), then = del line.exe

Best done in pure DOS by booting from a win98 floppy (as long as you have not installed windows on an NTFS partition).

"C:\Documents and Settings\Shadow\Desktop\LINE.EXE"

can you please type what i need to type in the dos box.

on a seperare note, chances are these things were viruses, so it may be worth while just running panda online scan or spybot or something just to ensure you havent picked anything up.

With it saying Line.exe was in use by another person or process it means the file had been accessed.
