Line in doesnt work on Soundblaster Audigy card

I cant for the love of hell get my Audigy's line in port to work, im a DJ and have just been given this card. Vista recognises the port as "Working" but there is simply no signal coming through, if i take it out and plug into the mic port it works fine, plug it back into line in, nothing, iv checked all the sound setting etc.

Anything else i could check?

Sorry you said you checked but just making sure - Under Sound & Audio -> Voice/Sound Recording -> Under volume - make sure you have Line In checked instead of Microphone ??

Im running windows vista and i cant even get the volume controls for line in, there is no volume options for it?

My mate in work suggested opening up the creative console as you need to tell the pc what input type the "Line-In" port is using, but when i do that the

"SPDIF Input Settings" dropdown box is greyed out, iv found some information on the web suggesting this isnt supported with windows vista x64?
