Good evening

I have been inquiring in to a new ISP and have found out from a line tester that my line is only capable of 2mb

What i don't understand is when i checked my line a few months ago it was capable of 5.5mb

Also my line is connected at 3.7mb

Would this have anything to do with Tiscali taking over Pipex?

DSL Status: UP
DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT
DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED
Downstream Rate: 3776 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 7 db
Upstream Margin: 26 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 33
Upstream Line Attenuation: 21
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

i have included my line stats from 5 mins ago

Would anyone have any ideas why this has happened or have any information regarding this, or would it be better to phone BT or Pipex myself.

2 of my mates are also experiencing the same problem, line is only capable of 2mb but being connected @ 8128kb, they to are on Pipex

Thanks

They're not testing your line, but rather guessing based on BT's planning records.
It's got nothing to do with Tiscali or Pipex, but you certainly won't get 5.5Mbps - no more than the 3776kbps you're already getting.

When? It's normal for your SNR margin to fluctuate - it's just a fact of life.

It might be worthwhile trying your modem connected directly to the master socket without any extensions. If your sync rate improves, your internal wiring is to blame.
