Line speed question

LOL, oh my lord, look at that attenuation now! Those extensions are just awful for adsl. I'm not sure that you can speed the profile change up, just make sure you don't turn the router off over the next few days.

Download speedachieved during the test was - 214 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7616 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 6500 Kbps

I just did a BT speed test and found these, something is wrong?

It's possible Plusnet need to do something at their end (they used to limit your throughput on their side of the network as well) because that's indicating your IP profile's already increased.
The "bt test user" is IIRC done away with now. It was speedtest_user@speedtest_domain and it meant you weren't going near your ISP (so were removed from any shaping/congestion that was going on).

I have put a post on their forum as they seem to be pretty good at getting back to people and I will try to find where to raise a ticket tomorrow.
Its really frustrating not being able to use youtube or downloads going along at 20B/s instead of 800B/s. :(

They seem to think it is because I keep turning my router off and on to do tests, but my profile is fine so BT don't think I have a bad connection/line.
They also suggest it could be my wiring in the house, but it is plugged into the master socket and all other phones (one DECT station with multiple handsets) are filtered. So that's not the answer.
