Guys,

Just moved house and wanted to check if my line was capable of any more, am with Sky so supposedly up to 16mb.

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 39.0 db 23.5 db
Noise Margin 9.3 db 14.0 db

Cheers

With more relaxed SNR margins you might be able to hit 10mbit, though it might be unstable.

That's about the max your line will do.

Judging by your upstream connection speed your package with Sky is still the Max (upto 16Mb) however your downstream seems maxed out at 8Mb.

Sky may have capped your downstream at 8Mb and left you on ADSL (g-dmt) in order to leave you with a stable connection - like Tolien says log into your router and that'll tell you if your on ADSL2+ or not.

The only ones at Sky that can manually reprofile your line stats are their CST / Tier 3 dept (08442 410 515) might be worth giving them a call and they'll be able to advise ;)

Thanks guys, where would you expect to see whether it's ADSL or ADSL2+? I can't find any reference to either on the router.

Just checked with the CST department as I can't seem to find any reference to either in my router config and apparently i'm on G.DMT. They moved me over to ADSL2+ while I was on the phone (is that possible?) and said I would only get maybe half a meg more and if they increased it anymore it would become unstable. Tempted to downgrade my package to 8mb now if this is the max i'm going to get....
