Hi Guys

Having some problems with one of my clients ADSL connections. Keeps disconnecting and we are getting sub 500kbps speeds

Have changed the filter and upgraded the router (was long overdue)

Just wanted to check that these stats were ok

ADSL Status Mode State Up Speed Down Speed SNR Margin Loop Att.
G.DMT SHOWTIME 288000 2272000 8.5 50.0

seems reasonble..if you copied and pasted from the router and it is what I think it is..(draytek 2600 series) thats also reasonable :D
 
Yeah its a draytek, great routers, working my way round all my clients upgrading them to drayteks, makes vpn etc so much easier.

The SNR is now 9.5.

No idea what is causing the poor speeds.

Might be worth mentioningthat the ISP is tiscali. They are not heavy users at all so I dont think they will be on the naughty pipe.

Im not sure as I am never here when it happens. But I constantly lose connection when I vpn in.

Im watching it today to see what happens. It seems to have stayed synced while I have been here but the speed is very poor. Not getting more than 500kbps

As usual tiscali customer support are no use

If its staying synced then I can't see it being a telephone or filter issue, might be worth trying bt speed tester

configure the draytek to use speedtest@speedtest_domain as the user and blank password

then open up your browser and goto http://speedtester.bt.com

if all is fine there, most proberly a tiscali issue
 
Think I found the problem, looks like tiscali have limited the account to 512kb, not sure why, nice of customer services to tell me when I rung them lol.

Will have to wait till business customer support are open on tuesday and give them a call.
