I've been with o2 now for 2 months & basically it does drop randomly & I was wondering would interleaving being put on help (noticed it was not on after doing the telnet check)

stats below (just need help before I ring)

Interleaving would probably reduce the error rate, but it won't affect the fact your SNR margin's bang on the target. That said, if you leave the router on constantly it should wind up at a stable level.

Usual things, connect to the master socket, no/filtered extensions.

so are the error rates that bad? the router still drops but this this less frequent. I do prefer being with 02 but do you reckon that with having interleaving back on would reduce the error rates marginaly?

Thanx for the advice so fare but I think I still need more, I have tried the master socket & the test socket recently & when I was on max with bt & then adsl24, sadly BT wrecked my line last year & its never recovered :( thats why I went to a fixed 2mb on adsl24 which was stable just got sick of paying £20...

Kev!

The error rate is pretty low, so it's probably not an issue.

You've tried the master socket when you were on IPStream Max, but not on O2? They're different beasts...

yeah done it recently in the test socket & even replaced the faceplate with a filtered one, snr goes up to 6.5. well if U think my coonection appears good I'll take your word for it & thanks for your help tolien

sorry tolien I dont understand what you mean by the speed it connects at? so sometimes higher is not so good? or just the varying speeds of connection?

The speed the modem connects at will fluctuate between 0 and full rate, and it'll try to get as high as it can get while keeping the SNR margin at or above the target (which is 6dB by default).
For a given fixed speed, you might find the SNR margin increased at the master socket - but because you're on a rate adaptive service, the increase in SNR margin gets swallowed up by a corresponding increase in speed.
