Only if young dived a few more times in the box we might of won the league on goal difference.
I'd go for 4-2-3-1 for UTD now that RVP is here.
----------De Gea---------
--Raf - Vidic - Rio - Evra--
-------Carrick - Clev------
Valancia - Rooney - Kagawa
------------RVP-----------
I seriously hope Kagawa isnt wasted out wide
--------------Friedel
Walker - Kaboul - Dawson - BAE
---------Sandro - THudd
--Lennon ---- VDV ----- Bale
---------------Defoe
I seriously hope Kagawa isnt wasted out wide
Still hoping for more of a 4/3/3 with
----------Carrick /Clev------
-------Kagawa-------Rooney-----
Valencia ------- RvP--------Young /Nani
Think that would be a much stronger formation imo and works better to the players strengths
Yet you want to 'waste' Rooney in midfield![]()
He has to fit in somewhere. He has played wide for club and country before joining utd. He won't be a winger, he will likely have a free roam role.
Slightly unrelated but the way precise formation labels are going these days sooner or later we will be talking about a "2-2-1-1-1-2-1" formation with a new line for every blade of grass further up the pitch a player is.
After yesterdays performance (abismal) I would like to see Newcastle in a New formation please.
-----------------Krul------------------
---Santon-----Taylor-----Colo-------Guti---
----------------Tiote----Anita--------------
-------------------Cabaye------------------
-------HBA----------Ba------------Cisse----
However Anita looked far better at RB. We looked mishaped, and Ben Arfa needed to be covered defensively as he much preferred to be up top. We essentially played with 3 strikers yesterday. But we lacked a lot of discipline. I can't stand Simpson anymore, he's terrible in the air, cannot run with the ball, and is becoming a liability. Taylor and Colo were solid again. But we missed Tiote massively.
Has Cisse been anywhere near as good as last year? Or has he been played left and Ba moved back central?
I think 1 or 2 injuries to key players and they might struggle, admittedly that's just looking in from the outside! Is that the general consensus or am I jumping the gun?
We have resorted to playing Ba and Cisse up top together. When Cisse was on his goal scoring spree he played up top by himself, with Ba on the left and Ben Arfa on the right. They are now too close together and from my personal opinion, getting in each others way. Ba moaned near the end of last season that he wanted a more central role. We tried to accommodate that, and pushed Cisse on the left, and it didn't work.
Cisse looks tired personally, as goes with other players too IMO, guitierez isn't putting a shift in like he used to. Cabaye seems to have slowed down too
They do seem like very similar players and unfortunately like last season when one is scoring the other isn't. On their own they are two cracking centre forwards, and from my point of view, Ba would have been fantastic for Stoke - but everyone knows how that ended!
Last season Cabaye bossed against us when you beat us down the Brit. I think that you might suffer in a similar way to us last season due to the Europa league.
I think you're right, originally I wanted us to play on our reserves in the Europa league, so our first 11 were fresh for PL action. However it still has an affect anyway. We tend to take the full team across anyway. So you've got travelling time, missing out on training sessions etc. You can already tell a lot of fitness is lacking from many players, last season we did so well because we ran around pressing every player, which we don't seem to be doing so well at now.
We aren't going to win the competition, so a part of me wants to get knocked out kindly, but then I would also like to see us go quite far, to keep the players happy, get a bit of revenue in etc. We are aiming for europe again, so we are going to have to get used to it.
