Hi, my steam is installed on a 1TB mechanical drive, and I have an SSD for serious games, now histrically all my serious games have not been on steam before.

How can I move my arma 3 folder to an SSD and trick steam? I don't have an ssd big enough to host all my steam games on one SSD.

Go to View>Settings> Downloads and Cloud Tab > Click Steam Library Folders > Add Library folder to SSD

May need to then restart Steam after that, then when you install it should give option of what Library you want to install the game to.

Hope this helps.

Steam now lets you install your games on any drive i have steam installed on a mechanical drive but when i installed arma 3 i just choose to install it to my ssd

When u install u are asked where you would like to install it i.e normal steam folder or make a new one on any of your ssds or hdds. I just made a new one so i could stick arma3 on my ssd when installing the game today.

Yeah that is good, came here to post it. Works on everything and it is on the context menu so it is quick and easy to use.
