I have a Billion 7800n which I use with a 30mb fibre connection. Works well with good wireless range but it's missing a USB connection unfortunately. Is it possible to daisy chain an apple Airport Extreme (also in my possession) so that I can take advantage of the USB slot on it and attach a Western Digital USB hard drive as a temporary nas drive. The aim for it to be a source for my iTunes library and a sonos system, without my pc being on.

I realise this sounds a convoluted idea but I have all the equipment already so the cost is nothing.

I use my airport extreme with the billion.

I don't use the wireless on the billion though and it works very well as a combination. Just put the airport extreme in to bridge mode and connect the WAN port of the airport (circle symbol above the port) to 1 of the 4 ports on the back of the billion.

:)

I'll have another try when I get home. I tried last night but when I plugged everything in I couldn't see the USB hard drive on the network. The airport extreme sees the drive but that's as far as it goes

So much for backwards compatability. Wish hadnt spent till 0130 in the morning tinkering with every option in vain! Thanks for the pointers guys
