Any decent USB2 or 3 cable will work. USB3 will be more reliable and give less latency, but tend to be thicker and normally have to be 3m or less.

The best cable is the Official Oculus Link cable which is 5m long, fibre optic, thin and flexible, and allows the Quest to be charged. The thing is it's £90! This is expensive, but actually no more expensive than other similar fibre-optic cables.

There are other cheaper brands which aren't as good: PartyLink is one. Anker also do some compatible cables (though they tend to be shorter).

Thanks. So if i do take the cable from the Rift S i got and plugged it in the Oculus go 2 it will work with my PC?. That will save me £90. When i first saw the price i was like that has to be a mistake for price of a cable. hehe.

Edit 2 seconds later:

Ive just pre ordered the official cable just to be on safe side knowing that the price is correct but does seem a lot for it.

Just hope they dont bring out a quest 2.5 out in 6 month. I mainly play Elite and Xplane in VR

The Oculus cable is 16ft and uses high speed fibre links so it allows a longer length of cable whereas the Anker cable is tested by Oculus and works but is only 10ft. So if you using the headset for gaming then the official cable is probably best.

The official link cable is also significantly lighter/thinner/more flexible than "normal" USB-C cables, especially long ones.

Ordered a anker usb 3.0 to usb c,
My first headset so incoming noob question,
Does the cable link use the power of the gfx card to make the visuals better?

Yes the link experience is entirely dependent on how good your CPU, Graphics card and USB connection are. It requires just as much power as running a dedicated PC headset.

Set up steam vr, and played some elite dangerous, Great experience but very underwhelmed with the Gfx, bit blurry and lots of jaggys,
Running a 1070 with a 3080 on order, i assume that will bump the graphics quality up then when it comes?

Having done a bit more research, I think my expectations were just to high,
First vr headset and only ever seen youtube videos which are capturing the desktop screen it seems,
Still overall impressive bit of kit that I shall have lots of fun on

You can alter settings to change the quality so i saw on YT, apparently makes a lot of difference

A 1070 will definitely be holding back a quest 2 - you are basically trying to render a greater than 4k image - I'm running a 2080ti and even then I'd like to be able to run a bit higher settings than I am having to.

Yeah that's what I had hoped,
Performance is fine and settings are maxed out apart from super sampling, so not sure what else setting wise I'm supposed to change? Am I missing a trick somewhere perhaps,
Seen some youtuber turn a lot of stuff off that I'm yet to try and see if it makes a difference,
Think in my head I was expecting to much with image quality though,
Someone referred to it being like having your face right up at the screen, which makes sence,
Cheers
