I have hosting with Easily.co.uk, i had trouble the other week with "owner/group permissions, they where all set wrong, the tech support at easily fixed the problem, but now i have upped some more files the problem has reared it head again, only the new files are affected.
One of the tech guys has today told me that he can view them, i suspect (as he has access to the server and my details) he has d/l them via ftp, this i can also do.

I use filezilla, i can change the permissions but they never stick.

Any assistance more than welcome.

Phil

Sure you do not have a .HTACCESS sitting somewhere? it does sound like file permissions though if it only affects new files. Do you have any SSH access to your hosting, if so try CHMODing the root directory and sub folders/files instead of via FTP.

Now that went straight over my head ;) could someone explain for me please.

Thanks for that, but having tried and failed with the above, there must be some setting server side that is stopping the changes sticking.

As said above, it'll be a web server permissions issue, fixed via using htaccess or ssh :)

That was firefox plugin I was trying called rankjt - gives the pagrrank for links. Seems to add that code to replies on vbulletin forums :(

Most peculiar but i have found a work around to the problem.

The root folder is website, if i drop the files in there 1st then move them to any of the sub folders, i can view, d/l the files without problem.
