I like reading up on stuff like this because it’s amazing to find out that the large majority of things that go “wrong” with many humans is psychological and literally all in the head. Case in point being those medical condition tests done recently where placebo drugs were given to people feeling ill and they magically got better because they knew they were given medication to cure it so their brains cured them.

This time round, bullies! Maybe this will help in slowly turning our streets into vandalism free zones in the future!

The brains of bullies—kids who start fights, tell lies, and break stuff with glee—may be wired to feel pleasure when watching others suffer pain, according to a new brain scanning study.

Why cure bullies?
As much damage as they can do, i see the need for them in society.

Man up you pussies.

I always thought bullies are kids that are ignored by their parents, or are the only child in the family, or get treated poorly by their parents, i.e. abused. I assumed that bullies were taking out their own frustration on other kids, maybe this is why they feel pleasure watching others suffer?

As opposed to?

I thought that was pretty much obvious.

In todays world of no compition or pain/sense of failure of any type, i guess this is due to come round. God forbid children get a backbone and learn how to stand up for themselfs to prepare themselfs when work comes around.

Still, i wish someone had treated the school bully when i was at school, but i think they would have had to use a bat.

Hardly surprised by the results. But I don't think they'll find a cure. I thinks *** brain activity is because they are a bully, not that the brain structure has made them a bully.

Oh and how about all the bullies that once use to be bullied. Like how you all ignore them.

Might sound nasty but if you can't take some ribbing at school and lets be honest most of it isn't proper bullying. Then how you going to survive at work.

As opposed to?

People who are happier when others are happy or feel empathy?

Six and two threes.

I don't think so personally, although the results may be the same the 'solution' to the issue would be different. If it was an emergent response then a form of conditioning might be able to bring the behaviour round to what society considers more acceptable. If it is wired then it might not be possible to use that sort of method and would require a different approach (drugs? something else?).

I doubt a bit of therapy will cure vandalism tbh.

Was it their own brain that cured them or their own belief that they will be cured that then triggered the brain to start making the right chemicals ?

Very intresting once you start applying the same questions to different areas in your life.
