Link pipe help...

Hi, I have been given a GSF 650 carbon fiber stubby exhaust for my GSX 650F. Since they're essentially the same bike.

Everything lines up nicely, except for 1 problem. The end of the link pipe that clamps onto the bike exhaust only goes over a small part of the tube. Its about 1mm dia. too narrow to fit on the rest fully.

Can the metal flaps be sprised open a little more and then forced onto the end to make a seal, or is it a lost cause?

Not yet. I've reassembled everything. I'll get one next time I take it apart.

It's probably just compressed down a bit from the clamp being tightened up on the previous bike. If you take it to an exhaust fitting place they should have a pipe expander tool that will stretch it out a little and remove any creases left by the clamp.

Worked it out. The pipe is the correct dia. The GSX 650F cat pipe has a fiber gasket around the end of pipe. Making it a little bigger.
