Hi there,
My specs are
Quad Q9300 (450fsbx7.5), 4gb Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 (2x2gb), Asus P5K Premium (Black Pearl Ed) mobo. Win XP, Creative fatality xfi Sound card.
I was having some problems with my onboard sound when overclocking, stuttering. I have just invested in a new xfi and I am having another go at overclocking.
Once I get over a fsb of 400 for some reason my link width drops from 16x to 1x as reported by cpu-z. This is born out by crappy results in 3dmark 06. If i drop the fsb back to 395 then the link width jumps back up to 16x. Is there any way to force it to stay at 16x with an fsb of 450?
I have tried setting the PCIE Frequency to 105 and then tried 110 (not the ones in between) and this didnt make any difference.
Any thoughts?
Cheers.
