Hi, I hope someone can give me some advice with this. I seem to have picked up some sort of virus. When I click on a link on a webpage it sometimes redirects me to some sort of "linkbucks" website. The weird thing is that it seems to happen quite intermittently. I've run MSE and Malwarebytes and they haven't picked anything up. Has anyone come across this virus? Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have anything called 'Stats Reader' on your Add/Remove Programs?.

If so, uninstall it.

And...

Remove Linkbucks redirect from Internet Explorer:

Click "Tools" (or gear icon in Internet Explorer 9), select "Manage Add-ons". Look for "Stats Reader" and disable it.

Remove Linkbucks redirect from Google Chrome:

Click on a wrench or bars icon (top right of the screen), select "Tools" and click on "Extensions". Locate "Stats Reader" select this entry and click on a trash can icon.

Remove Linkbucks redirect from Mozilla FireFox:

Click "Tools" (at the top of the window), select "Add-ons". Click on "Extensions" and disable "Stats Reader".

Depending on the site, some types of places use these.
Where (what type) of site are you seeing them on?

If it's sites towards the more iffy end of the spectrum, it's basically to be expected.

Thanks for the replies. I ran TSS Killer, which found 6 suspicious files I've now deleted. I couldn't find "Stats Reader" but disabled most IE add-ons. It *seems* to have stopped the redirects.

Oh, and no - I haven't been frequenting any iffy websites!
