I have my 2 780s linked in EVGA precision. I though this meant they should be running at the same frequencies but ive noticed when gaming they are not.

In BF4 my top card is running @1316 and the bottom @ 1296
In Wolfenstein New Order my top card is running @1293 and the bottom @980.

I thought the cards should split the load evenly?
Thanks
Scott

Mine are the same in sli, top card boosts to 1124mhz, bottom one 1097mhz. This is normal as its rare to see two cards with identical stock boost speeds. However on wolfenstein your second card doesnt seem to be being utilised properly, as iirc 980 is around stock core speed for quite a few 780 models.

Wolfenstein New Order isn't a good one for multi GPU due to the way the engine works, relatively efficient render loading, hard fps cap and other weirdness.

Unless you've flashed the Bios to a non boost variant, GPU Boost 2.0 will be interfering with the clocks.

Also where do people get 780s that do 1300Mhz? I assume you are running them at quite a high voltage?

Does GPU boost not only throttle when either the Temperature or power limit has been reached? Neither of which have.

EVGA classifieds seem to be worth the hype :)

Im using the second bios on the cards which allows a 115% power limit and they are running at 1.175V so not really a high voltage.

Add + 20 core on your bottom card to even it out or minus 20 off the top.

some games just dont use SLI well, occasionally I'll have one card(bottom) running at just Boost clocks and the top is on it's daily clock of 1202 core it just depends on the game, something like BF4 for example I'm running 1202/7008 on both cards 24/7 fine.

Will it affect anything leaving it as is? Will the top card be waiting for the bottom before moving on to the next frame?
