Is it possible to configure LinkedIn so you only receive messages from confirmed connections?

I don't think there is such option. I'm trying to figure that out for my account too

one reasonably big source of revenue is from recruiters, while they obviously want you to have a good experience they can't just cut off one of the main reasons a large number of people pay them money - the free service you're getting has to be funded from somewhere after all
