OK got my new mobo

ASUS M4A88T-V Evo

The on board GFX is a bit of a let down but I have a Ati HD 4670 card which I want to put in, I have read in the not so brilliant manual you can link GFX card, but how ?

Thanks

If you see a system with 2 cards with a small bridge connecting them on the left hand side. This can be called SLI or CROSSFIRE depending on the card.
Your motherboard supports crossfire, and so does your ati 4670. So here is how you do it.

In your PCIex16 slot (the one with the small clip. Plug in your 4670. Now buy another 4670 and plug it in the other PCIex16 slot. then use the small crossfire bridge and connect them together.

Simples

Ahh OK maybe mislead you here, wanted to link on on board GFX and the PCI-e card I have. Can that be done ?

Ok i dont know much about that but i do know the new low end AMD motherboards (A75 chipset) can link the onboard graphics in a AMD Llano A* CPU with a few cards. Even if you had this chipset, your 4670 would not work.

Other than that i dont know any way you can link your onboard with your dedicated card sorry.

Aye, thats hybrid crossfireX - but the number of graphics card models that it works with is very small and specific to the chipset you are using.

With a 880G board I believe you need a HD 5450 card.

However, even with a 5450 running in hybrid crossfire with the onboard GPU i'm certain the 320 stream processors on your 4670 is MUCH faster (the 5450 has 80 SPs and the 880G has 40).
