Links in gmail emails don't redirect properly unless opened in a new tab.

I have a wee problem to do with links in emails in the gmail website. When I hover over a link, the URL shows up normally in the status bar (bottom of browser), but when I click it it will take me to this url (within the same tab)
https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&view=bsp&ver=1qygpcgurkovy
Links work fine if I open them in a new tab.

This is happening on a Windows 7 pc (and its happened from the beginning), but I've installed this OS on different systems several times in the past year and this problem hasn't occured before.

Firefox. The problem has been present since the beginning when I installed the OS and Firefox (about a month ago now), so its nothing to do with malware.
I noticed in Chrome and IE8, the links open in a new tab/window when I left click.
For some reason Firefox just tries to open the link in the same tab.

Edit: Ok nevermind. Seems to be an issue with the Tabs Open Relative add-on.
