Hi all.
Not sure if I've put this in the right place, perhaps a mod could move it if they don't think I have.
I'm currently using a NAS (a Thecus N1200) and I was wondering if it might be possible to create symbolic links (or would it be hard links?) from a couple of Windows PCs to a directory on the NAS?
My aim would be to have all my save games located on the NAS and then link from the game's savegame directory to a directory on the NAS. This way all my gaming PCs could share one lot of save games and it wouldn't matter which PC I was using.
A few games let you select the location of the save games but for the others I'd need to create a link to the NAS directory but make it appear like a local windows directory to the game so it could continue to think it was saving to a sub-directory of "My Documents" or wherever.
Does that make sense? (it was late/early when I wrote this?
Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how to do it?
Thanks in advance for any help.
